How Can Chemical Peels Improve Your Skin?

At The Center For Women’s Aesthetics, we offer medical-grade chemical peels that are used on the face, neck, and hands. These chemical peels help with acne scars, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, lines under the eyes, scars, and sun-damaged skin. The new skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and reduces the number of lines and wrinkles.

Type of Peels

We have mild chemical peels often called the lunchtime peels used to remove mild lines and skin imperfections. It can be used on the face, neck, hands, and chest. A medium peel is used to reach the middle layers of the skin. This removes damaged cells and improves age spots, wrinkles, freckles, and skin discoloration. Before having a medical-grade peel, it is recommended that you be examined by a dermatologist to see if it right for you.

Our Chemical Peel Procedure at The Center For Women’s Aesthetics

When you come in for an appointment we will review your medical history, perform a physical exam and run some tests to determine the best peel for you. Before the procedure, you may be asked to take an antiviral medication, use a retinoid cream, and avoid sunlight and certain cosmetic treatments. For a medium or deep peel, you may receive a painkiller or be sedated.

During the treatment, the provider will apply the solution with a brush, cotton, or sponge to the area being treated, and your skin will begin to whiten. With mild peels, you may feel some stinging, and after several minutes, they will apply a neutralizing solution to remove the chemical from your skin. The medium peel may produce some stinging and burning, but you will be given cool compresses to soothe the skin.
